The Speak Environment Podcast was created in 2019 with the intention of presenting environmental science and ecology topics in an accessible way. The Speak Environment website is a hub to primarily house all resources cited in the research of each podcast episode. On top of that, it also serves as a secondary home for all Instagram content posted on the @speakenvironmentpodcast page, which features contemporary environmental news deep-dives and infographics.

About the Host

Cierra Dawson is the founder and host of the Speak Environment Podcast. She holds a B.S. Environmental Science with a specialization in Applied Ecology from Oregon State University. A 2022 graduate, Cierra is an early career professional pursuing field-based knowledge in plant ecology and community engagement. She’s worked all over the state of Oregon performing population estimates for rare and endangered plant species, and most recently, is working directly with homeowners in her community on invasive plant species management.
